How We Review Tools
What goes into a recommendation, and what does not.
Our process
- Define the job. We start from a host’s question, for example “which smart lock creates guest codes automatically?”
- Build the shortlist. We include tools that are currently sold, documented and relevant to short-term rentals.
- Verify from sources. We read the vendor’s pricing page, help center and integration list, and check independent sources where they exist.
- Compare on the same questions. What does it automate? What still needs a person? What does it cost? Which channels and integrations does it support? What are the limits?
- Label the fit. We recommend a tool for a type of host, not as a universal winner.
Documentation-based, not hands-on
Our articles are currently documentation-based evaluations. We do not claim hands-on testing. When we do test something ourselves, the article will say what was tested, how, and when.
Pricing
Prices are shown with the date we checked them and a link to the source. Vendors change prices often, so confirm before buying. We never show discount percentages we cannot verify.
Compatibility
We only list an integration if the vendor documents it. Our stack builder never assumes tools connect on their own.
